NWA ranked 7th in the best places to live according to the 2022 U.S. News Best Places, and has been in the top 10 the last 7 years. Historically, the Northwest Arkansas metro ranked:

This is a trend we anticipate to continue in 2023. When the National Association of Realtors published their predictions of the 10 Housing Markets Expected to Lead the Nation in 2023, NWA is #4 on the list!!

Fast Growing Metro

We ranked the 18th fastest growing metro in the US for 2022. In fact, NWA has seen a 24.2% growth in population since 2010. As the word has spread about the quality of life available in this area; along with the economic prosperity, NWA has experienced tremendous growth in the last decade. There are over 30 people moving to the area every month. A pace that is not expected to slow down any time soon.

Even with the population growth, Northwest Arkansas ranked 8th on the Cheapest Place to Live by U.S. News in 2022. The Chicago Tribune also ranked NWA 9th on the list of Cities Where Your Dollar Goes Farthest for 2022. When compared to most metros, there is a lot more you can do, see, try, and experience for the same amount of money.

While Fayetteville is often know as a college town, NWA still ranks among the top 100 Best Places to Retire in the US. There has been a large  up-tick in the number of retirement communities that offer high quality living. Even though there's no beach to watch the sun rises or sunset, NWA has so many activities that retired individuals can take advantage of.

The Place to be in Arkansas

Call us biased, but there is no better place to be than NWA! Northwest Arkansas is generally defined as the two most northwest counties in Arkansas, Benton & Washington counties. These two counties make up almost 1-in-5 of the entire population of Arkansas. In other words, 20% of the population lives in about 2.6% of the state. These are the fastest growth cities in the state. In fact, Fayetteville recently overtook Fort Smith for second largest city in Arkansas (state capitol Little Rock is largest). Springdale will soon also over take Fort Smith for the third largest city in Arkansas. Benton County and Washington County rank #1 and #7 (respectively) for the counties with the highest median income in Arkansas. NWA is home to 6 of the top 10 high schools in the state of Arkansas. Benton County and Washington County ranked 2nd and 3rd in the state for Real Gross Domestic Product. By now it should be clear....be it size, growth, education, and economic prosperity, NWA is the place to be in Arkansas.
